The things I learn from DW-TV... Black forest cake, I recently discovered, originates from Germany, from the Black Forest region, to be precise. Thus the name. I never quite made the connection. Maybe because I'm not particularly fond of cherries. They taste artificial and gummy and yucky. So anyway...
